What is the ETRC use policy?

In order to ensure ETRC staff are available to help you, please contact them (936-468-4100 | asketrc@sfasu.edu) to make an appointment before visiting.

  • Food and drink are not allowed in the ETRC.
  • Upon entering the ETRC, please sign the register at the front desk.
  • Store all personal items including notebooks and backpacks, etc. in the lockers outside the ETRC.
  • Use only a pencil or a laptop computer to take notes. Pens and other markers are not permitted. Note paper will be provided upon request.
  • Scanners are not allowed. Copies can be made for a small fee with the photocopy machine, or a camera with no flash may be used.
  • Only materials in the reading room may be photocopied by the user. All other material will need to be photocopied by an ETRC employee. 
  • Any material larger than than 11" x 17" will not be photocopied. They will need to be digitized, and a digitization fee will be charged.
  • You will be issued only 1 manuscript box at a time. Please maintain the order of manuscript materials by opening only one folder or envelope at a time.
  • Wear white gloves (available at the desk) when handling photographs, negatives, or fragile graphics.
  • In an effort to best preserve the ETRC’s rare and unique material, any material imaged in the East Texas Digital Archives must be viewed online.
  • Information on duplication of ETRC material is available at the front desk.
